Why this course

Why learn GEO now?

Because more and more buyers read an AI answer before they visit any website, and that answer names only a few brands. Being one of them is now a skill you can learn.

When a Google AI summary appears, people click a classic result in 8% of visits, against 15% without one, and click a link inside the summary in 1% of visits (Pew Research Center, 900 U.S. adults, July 2025). About 18% of the Google searches in that study showed an AI summary, and 88% of those summaries cited three or more sources.

Google confirms that AI Overviews and AI Mode can run several searches for one question and show a wider set of links than a classic search (Google Search Central, AI features and your website). And research shows the way a page is written changes its visibility in AI answers, by up to 40% in the KDD 2024 GEO paper (Aggarwal et al., GEO: Generative Engine Optimization, KDD 2024).

“There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, nor other special optimizations necessary.”

Our own data adds the field view: 5,331 answers from five AI engines, citing 41,711 links from 5,724 domains, show that each engine reads different sources (Howseen study). This course turns that into a method.

How it works

How is the course organized?

Four modules in a strict order, from why to how: understand, measure, act, then use Howseen. Each lesson takes a few minutes and ends with what you can now do.

  1. Understand GEO: the market and the mechanism. No tool needed.
  2. Measure: the right questions, the four numbers, the sources behind the answers.
  3. Act: technical access, content worth quoting, trust and mentions elsewhere.
  4. Use Howseen: setup, connections, dashboard, Action Plan, Content Plan and progress, click by click.

Words you do not know are in the glossary. Each lesson links to the free tools that let you check your own site as you go, like the AI crawler checker.

Module 1 · 26 min

1. Understand GEO

Why AI recommends one brand over another, what a mention and a citation are, and how the main AI engines differ. No tool needed, just the market.

Start here even if you already know SEO. These four lessons give you the vocabulary and the mechanism behind every number you will see later.

Module 2 · 14 min

2. Measure your AI visibility

Choose the buyer questions to track, read the four numbers that matter, and find the sources AI reads. Measurement first, so your actions aim at the right target.

You cannot improve what you do not measure, and you cannot measure well with the wrong questions. These three lessons set up a measurement you can trust.

Module 3 · 16 min

3. Act on your site and beyond

Make your site readable by AI, write pages AI can quote, and earn the trust and mentions that put your brand in the answer. The playbook, with sources.

Three levers move AI answers: technical access, content worth quoting, and what other sites say about you. One lesson for each, in that order.

Module 4 · 39 min

4. Use Howseen step by step

Set up your brand, connect Search Console, Bing and your website, read your dashboard, and run your Action Plan and Content Plan. One lesson, one task, down to the click.

For Howseen users and anyone who wants to see how the method runs in practice. Every label in quotes is the exact name you see on screen.
