AI-ready articles for Next.js and headless sites
Your site renders the page, Howseen supplies the article: pull a JSON feed with a private key and keep full control of design and routing.
Overview
How the feed works
Choose Next.js or API in Howseen settings to get a private key, then your site fetches your published articles as JSON and renders them.
This is a pull model: nothing is pushed to your server. Each article answers one buyer question where AI names a competitor (see content autopilot), and your site decides when to fetch and rebuild.
Why publish at all? In our study of 5,331 AI answers, ChatGPT never cited YouTube in 1,164 answers and leaned on websites: brand sites, documentation and expert pages. A clear page on your own site is what ChatGPT can quote.
Rendering
Fresh pages without a full rebuild
Fetch the feed at build time or on a revalidation timer, so new articles appear without redeploying the whole site.
In Next.js, Incremental Static Regeneration lets a page refresh in the background on a timer (Next.js docs, Incremental Static Regeneration). Static pages load fast and are easy for AI crawlers to read.
- Private key per connection, kept on your server.
- Only your articles: each feed is scoped to your brand.
- Your design: you render the HTML or Markdown your way.
Publishing is half the job: AI Overviews and AI Mode can only show pages Google has indexed (Google Search Central, AI features and your website), and when an AI summary appears, Google users click fewer links (Pew Research Center, July 2025). Being the page the answer quotes matters more than ranking tenth.
“Google's automated ranking systems are designed to prioritize helpful, reliable information that's created to benefit people, and not content that's created to manipulate search engine rankings.”

For a push instead, use the signed webhook. For your visibility data (not articles), see the REST API and MCP server. Research on generative engines shows that how a page answers decides how often AI cites it (Aggarwal et al., GEO: Generative Engine Optimization, KDD 2024).
Questions, answered
Does it only work with Next.js?+
No. Any framework or headless setup that can fetch JSON with a key can use the feed: Astro, Nuxt, Remix or a static site generator.
Is the feed public?+
No. It needs the private key from your Howseen settings, and only returns your own published articles.
Can Howseen host the blog for me instead?+
Yes. Without any site of your own, Howseen can host the blog for you and publish there.
How fast do new articles appear?+
As fast as your site fetches: at the next build, or at the next revalidation if you use ISR.
