Publish AI-ready articles to WordPress
Howseen writes the article that answers the buyer question you lose in ChatGPT, and publishes it to your WordPress site through the official REST API.
Overview
What the WordPress integration does
Howseen writes articles that answer the buyer questions where AI names a competitor and not you, then publishes them to WordPress as drafts or on a schedule.
Howseen tracks the questions your buyers ask AI (see buyer prompts) and finds the ones where a competitor is named instead of you. The content autopilot turns those questions into a monthly plan and writes one article per question. With WordPress connected, each article lands on your site in one click, or by itself on its planned date if you turn autopilot on.
Why publish at all? In our study of 5,331 AI answers, ChatGPT never cited YouTube in 1,164 answers and leaned on websites: brand sites, documentation and expert pages. A clear page on your own site is what ChatGPT can quote.

How to connect WordPress
Connecting WordPress takes a couple of minutes in Howseen settings, and Howseen tests the credentials before saving them.
- 1. Create an application password in WordPress, under Users, then your profile. It is a separate password made for apps, and you can revoke it at any time.
- 2. Open Howseen settings, choose WordPress and enter your site URL, your WordPress username and the application password.
- 3. Howseen tests it with a read-only call before saving. If WordPress rejects it, you see why right away.
Application passwords are WordPress's own way to let an app publish for you, introduced in WordPress 5.6 (WordPress Core, Application Passwords integration guide). Posts go through the standard WordPress REST API Handbook.
Credentials are encrypted at rest. A wrong password, token or address is caught in the connect dialog, not at the first automatic publish.
What lands on your site
What Howseen sends to WordPress
Each article arrives with its title, slug, meta description and formatted body, written for one buyer question.
- Title, slug and meta description, ready for search and AI.
- The article body in HTML: headings, lists, tables and sources.
- As a post through the WordPress REST API, live or scheduled.
Research on generative engines found that adding quotations, statistics and cited sources raises a page's visibility in AI answers (Aggarwal et al., GEO: Generative Engine Optimization, KDD 2024). Howseen writes each article in that form: a direct answer first, then facts and sources.
“Google's automated ranking systems are designed to prioritize helpful, reliable information that's created to benefit people, and not content that's created to manipulate search engine rankings.”
Which question should you publish first?
The 3-day free trial shows every buyer question where AI names a competitor. Cancel in 1 click.
After publishing
Indexing, then tracking
After publishing, Howseen can ask Google and Bing to index the page and keeps tracking whether AI starts citing you on that question.

Publishing is half the job: AI Overviews and AI Mode can only show pages Google has indexed (Google Search Central, AI features and your website), and when an AI summary appears, Google users click fewer links (Pew Research Center, July 2025). Being the page the answer quotes matters more than ranking tenth.
Connect Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to close the loop. Article quotas by plan are on the pricing page.
Questions, answered
Does Howseen publish to WordPress automatically?+
Only if you want it to. By default every article waits as a draft for your approval. With autopilot on, articles are published to WordPress on their planned date.
Which WordPress plan do I need?+
Any self-hosted WordPress site (5.6 or later) with the REST API on. WordPress.com sites need a plan that allows application passwords.
How many articles do I get?+
4 per 30 days on Starter, 15 per brand on Pro and 30 for the account on Business. The 3-day trial includes articles too.
Can I edit an article before it goes live?+
Yes. Every article opens in the Howseen editor first. You can change the text, then publish now or schedule it.
What if the connection breaks?+
If WordPress rejects the credentials (for example a revoked token), Howseen stops retrying that connection and asks you to reconnect, instead of failing silently every run.
