Setup
How to connect GA4
Sign in with Google from Howseen settings and choose your GA4 property; Howseen only reads it, and nothing changes on your site or in your tags.
Howseen queries your property with the official Google Analytics Data API, using the session source dimension to recognise AI assistants. Nothing is added to your site and no tag changes are needed.
Why it matters: when an AI summary appears, Google users click fewer links (Pew Research Center, July 2025), so the visits AI does send are worth tracking. Research on generative engines shows that the way a page answers decides how often it is cited (Aggarwal et al., GEO: Generative Engine Optimization, KDD 2024).
